A Escola CAMES, da CAMES Brasil, promove no dia 22/9, segunda-feira, das 14h às 18h (horário de Brasília / Londres e Tunísia), o webinar "From Lex Sacra to Lex Mercatoria: Sacrality and Secularism in Arbitration".
O encontro contará com renomados especialistas:
- Evelyn Barreto - Academic Coordinator and Member of the Deliberative Council at CAMES - Chamber of Specialized Mediation and Arbitration. Professor of International Law and Consensual Methods of Dispute Resolution at Mackenzie Presbyterian University (UPM). PhD and Master's Degree in International and Comparative Law from the Law School of the University of São Paulo (USP). Independent Arbitrator;
- José Nantala Bádue Freire - Lawyer with over 20 years of experience in advisory and litigation practice, holding a PhD and a Master's degree in International Law from the University of São Paulo Law School (FDUSP). He graduated in Law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie and pursued postgraduate studies in European Studies at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. A founding member of the USP BRICS Study Group (GEBRICS/USP), he has broad expertise in domestic and international arbitration and serves as an arbitrator in disputes involving commercial contracts, cross-border transactions, and agribusiness-related matters. He is currently a partner and head of Agribusiness at Martins Villac Advogados;
- Dhafer Dridi - Lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, University of Tunis Elmanar, where he teaches International Contract Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Master's programme in International Business Law, as well as Banking Law in the Master's programme in Business Law. He is also a practicing attorney, admitted to the Tunisian Bar in 2005, and the founder of DLF Law Firm in Tunis, which provides legal services in arbitration, private international law, corporate law, banking, and finance. Since 2022, Dhafer has served as the Correspondent of UNIDROIT (International Institute for the Unification of Private Law) for Tunisia. He is a native Arabic speaker and fluent in French and English;
- Paolo Vargiu - Associate Professor at the Leicester Law School, University of Leicester (UK). His work explores the intersections of law and religion, legal theory, and international law. He has published extensively on matters of law and religion, international arbitration and investment law. He is a qualified practitioner and a member of the Italian Bar Association and, alongside his university role, he serves as an independent arbitrator.
